Business Card Printing

Whether you keep the collection of business cards you’ve been given by other people in a drawer, a box or neatly organized in a folder, there is one thing that the majority of the cards in your collection have in common; they’re boring. However, out of the countless number of dull business cards that seem like cookie-cutter copies of each other, you undoubtedly have a few in your collection that stand out to you.  And for the select few business cards that stand out to you, you actually remember the person who gave them to you. While a plain business card makes it easy to forget someone, when you are handed a business card that makes an immediate impression on you, you are actually going to remember the person who handed it to you.

If you want to have a business card that makes other people remember you, it’s actually not as difficult as you may think. The key to making a business card that stands out to others is to be creative. Instead of following the masses, you have to be willing to express who you really are.

As you are working on designing the perfect business card, here are some questions to ask yourself to help decide exactly what you want to create:

What is Your Job Title?

If you work for a large corporation, you may be required to use a predetermined title on your business card. However, if you work for a small company or run your own business, you may be able to add a creative job title to your card. The key is thinking about what you actually do, and then thinking of a creative way to describe it. Examples of creative job titles include Chief Inspiration Officer, Number Cruncher or Research Evangelist.

How Does Your Business Card Feel?

Because business cards are something that people actually touch, you can use the feel of yours to create a lasting impression. Instead of a standard flimsy business card, consider having your business card printed on a unique stock. Your business card can be on extra heavy stock, or silk laminated. You can even go a step farther and have your card printed on plastic or waterproof stock!

What Colors are on Your Business Card?

If you want to be ordinary, stick with black and white. If you want to stand out, think about what colors best represent who you are, and then incorporate those colors into the design of your business card.

What is the Shape of Your Business Card?

While traditional business cards have sharp corners, this doesn’t mean yours has to have sharp corners. While sharp corners may be a good choice for those with a corporate role, rounded corners give a softer impression, which may be the perfect choice if you want to show that you care about others.

What Font is On Your Business Card?

While Times New Roman is a safe font choice, it’s not one that’s going to convey who you are. Fonts have distinct personalities, so take the time to find a font that matches your personality, and it will convey your personality to others when they read your business card.
